[From Yoka Guide] ~ Thinking back to today 79 years ago ~ How are you all doing in the hot weather that continues? It's been hot since morning in Kagoshima city... but when I watched the national weather forecast on TV, the temperature in Kagoshima today was lower than in Fukuoka and Kansai... is that really true!? But it's still hot all over the country. Everyone, please be careful not to get heatstroke. Now, there is a report that has been attracting attention since yesterday. A statement by table tennis player Hayata Hina, who was very active in the Paris Olympics. When asked what she wanted to do now, she said that she wanted to go to the Anpanman Museum and the Kagoshima Kamikaze Museum. Many people may have already seen it on the news. In fact, there are three kamikaze-related facilities in Kagoshima. Among them, the one that is well known even to people living outside the prefecture is the Chiran Kamikaze Peace Hall in Minamikyushu City. I covered it a long time ago, and I couldn't stop crying the whole time (I should have worked calmly, actually...). It is a must-see tourist spot that is introduced in the limited pages of the "Yoka Guide Kagoshima" tourist book (free paper). When I am asked, "What are some recommended tourist spots in Kagoshima?", I always make sure to say, "Make sure to go here!!" I hope that Hayata's story will encourage more people to visit. If you pick up the free paper version of "Yoka Guide", please take a look at the article, but the information is also posted on the "Yoka Guide" website, so please take a look (sorry that it is not a direct link... (._.)) #Chiran Special Attack Peace Hall https://yokaguide.com/minami_kyushu/3.html The other two special attack related facilities are located in Bansei in Minamisatsuma City and Kanoya City. If you are traveling by car, I think it is easy to approach from Chiran. If you have the opportunity, please stop by. You can get to Chiran by bus from Kagoshima Chuo Station or Kagoshima Airport, but it may be easier to travel by car (rental car). It takes about an hour and a little by car from Kagoshima city, depending on the time of day. However, please note that congestion and traffic jams are expected during the peak tourist season. Also, for those of you living in eastern Japan in particular, please be careful as a typhoon is approaching as of the 1725th. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Yoka Guide Kagoshima is a free tourist paper packed with the latest information on Kagoshima. It is available at Sakurajima SA (outbound) on the Kyushu Expressway, the tourist information center inside Kagoshima Chuo Station, most hotels in downtown Kagoshima, rental car offices around Kagoshima Chuo Station and the airport, roadside stations in Kagoshima Prefecture, and various other tourist facilities. There is also a web version, so please take a look.
