Kikai Town Hometown Tax

Children's carefree lives woven from the blessings of the island
Kikaijima is an uplifted coral reef island located 380km south of the prefecture's mainland in the northeastern part of the Amami Islands. The products that exude a tropical atmosphere and are woven from the rare natural environment are gaining attention as return gifts every year.
The city provides generous subsidies to the child-rearing generation, such as providing free school lunches and full medical subsidies for families up to high school age, with the aim of making it a town where it is easy to raise children.
In addition, donations will be used in various ways to fund part of the Coral Study Abroad Project (Remote Island Study Abroad Project) that started in fiscal year 5, and to increase the number of visitors and revitalize the region.
