Good shochu comes from good soil, and good soil is found in bright rural areas.
Kirishimacho Distillery is located in Kirishima, surrounded by beautiful nature, and uses abundant groundwater to make shochu using traditional earthenware pots. In addition to holding 15-20 minute tours of the shochu making process (free of charge) at any time, you can also sample selected brands at the shop or try your hand at hand-writing an original, one-of-a-kind label on your own shochu.
